Can I return a dress if it doesn’t suit me?
Yes, we will accept a return within 14 days and we will refund the cost of the dress. (you have to pay the return postage cost, but please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more explanation). Before you buy, please check the sizing and dress measurements carefully (click here for a more detailed explanation).
How much does postage cost?
For buyers in the UK, standard delivery is included in the price of the dress. If you want special delivery, or if you want the dress shipping somewhere outside the UK, then there will be a supplement to pay which will show up when you checkout.
Are all the dresses original and true vintage?
Our ethos is all about true period vintage clothing of the highest quality; we do not sell any retro reproductions and everything is to the best of our knowledge a genuine item of the period described. Every item is laundered or dry cleaned if possible and checked carefully, with skilled repair if needed, so that it is presented to you in the best possible condition. So our dresses are always one-off items and around 40 to 80 years old, and that means that like any antique, they are never going to be in perfect mint condition.
How long have you been established?
Lizzy opened her first vintage shop in Bridgnorth over 30 years ago, and has specialized in vintage dresses ever since. We are well established, and very well known! Take a look at our Facebook page to see what people think.

Do you buy vintage clothing?
We are always prepared to look at vintage dresses you might have for sale, and if it is a type / era of dress that we are buying at the moment, then we will make you an offer. However – you will have to bring the dresses in to our shop in Bridgnorth – we cannot buy just on the basis of pictures and descriptions.
Do you sell wholesale?

Where is your shop?
Our shop is in Bridgnorth in Central England. Just click on the location map at the bottom of our webpages to see where. Bridgnorth is a lovely town to visit, with a historic steam railway and a thriving market. The nearest airport is Birmingham, which is about 25 miles away.
How do I clean my dress?
There are no simple answers to this, except that every dress that seems like it might be possible to wash, has been washed by me (either by hand-washing or in a washing machine). That way – I ruin some dresses, so that you don’t need to! Obviously some dresses are too delicate or made of materials that need dry cleaning instead. If you do try washing in a machine, then normally you’re going to need a low temperature and low spin speed, and you might need to remove some types of buttons before washing. Hand washing is safer, and then I’d drip-dry.
